Is this a healthy average day?
Breakfast:1 cup of green tea
1 bowl of oatmeal
1 orange/banana/apple/serving of fruit
Lunch:
2/3 of a whole wheat sandwich
1/2 a bag of SunChips
1 bottle of water
1 serving of fruit
After-school-snack:
Fresh red pepper and hummus
Dinner:
Salmon patty
Broccoli and cauliflower
Piece of garlic bread (not the buttery kind, the thin slice with bits of fresh garlic)
Water
Dessert:
Fruit smoothie (frozen strawberries, frozen blueberries, spoonful of low-fat yogurt, Equal/Splenda, 1% milk)
Exercise:
- 45 minutes of PE (warm-ups, soccer/volleyball/football/etc.)
- 20 minute jog
- 100 crunches/100 calf raises/25 push-ups
- 10 minutes of pilates
- 15 minutes playing catch
How many calories do you think I consumed with that food?
How many calories burned?
I realize that would be a complete approximation but if you have any guess I'd be glad to know.
Also, is this a healthy average day?
I'm a 14 year old girl, 5 foot 7.5 and weigh 128 pounds.

I like to drain off the liquid, mix in a couple of large eggs and enough crumbled whole wheat saltine crackers to make a workable mixture. Make out in patties and pan fry until golden brown. One can usually makes 4 large patties or 6 smaller ones.Question #3:

Toning thighs and abs?
Hey im 5' 4'' and weigh 125 pounds and are trying to get totally toned, i have good abs but i want to get them rock solid, like Sarah Jessica Parkers. My thighs also need to be toned as well i had knee surgery 6 months ago and squats and lunges are still hard for me. I eat great im a vegetarian and eat wheat cereal for breakfast, for lunch i eat a protein bar, granola bar (90 cal) apple with cheese for dinner i usually have a salad with salmon or low fat tortellinis, or a subway sandwich (veggie patty) i drink lots of water and barely drink soda or eat lots of sweets. My exercises now is 50 sit ups/bicycles and pilates and yoga.I also do an hour of cardio (football, soccer, ect) a morning. thanks

Why would salmon patties smell like ammonia?
I cooked some salmon patties containing 1 egg, baking soda, flour, onion and of course a can of pink salmon. I fried them in a skillet until golden brown. They smell like regular salmon patties except the have a very strong ammonia smell also. Could the egg have been bad? Or could it have been bad baking soda? I have no idea why they have the smell of ammonia. Anyway we aren't gonna eat them that is for sure.That explains it. Thank you so much for your responses. No, the can was not dented either. I never new that fish does that when it ruins.

What are these? Rice and Fish Japanese "snacks", not sushi.?
I love these things, they are rice "patties" with smoked salmon in the middle rolled in sesame seeds, I have seen the Japanese eat these "rice snacks" and I have to know what they are called. I love them. Some also come with nori. They kind of remind me of Sushi but they are much bigger. I found them in the 7-11. I wish I could attach a picture.....Question #14:

Mine was something I made:You've probably all heard about salmon patties. You make em' with saltine crackers crushed up. Well, one day I ran out of crackers, and I tried using Honey Nut Cheerios instead.
Oh yeah..it was as sick as it sounds. I did eat some though. Tasted like fishy-sweet-burnt-cereal. LOL Yuck!

Steak can be eaten medium to rare/raw - why can't hamburgers??
Many cultures eat raw meats, e.g. salmon, beef, lamb, oysters and shellfish...with seemingly no ill effects.Although dishes like Steak Tartare are acceptable (ground up raw beef), if you fire up the BBQ in summer, you can't eat your burger meat 'rare/medium' to 'raw'.....anyone have a legitimate argument/reason or explanation why this is so???
Why is raw ground beef acceptable in one dish but if put in a much thinner patty on a BBQ it suddenly becomes dangerous???
Steak Tartare IS eaten raw usually with onion and a raw egg on top. It has a lot of other ingredients too but that is beside the point.....
Everyone seems to miss the point that Steak Tartare IS ground up beef....it is NO different to normal steak that is ground up for beef burgers....but I do see some of your points people...but it is not exactly hitting the bullseye here.....
