Question #1:
Anyone try Costco's frozen Salmon patties by Trident?
They are delicious and individually frozen so you can just grab one of them from the freezer and microwave it. I'm trying to eat more healthy and salmon is supposed to be really good for your health. I just "nuke" (i.e. microwave) them for a few mins. & it makes a great quick lunch or dinner.Question #2:

How would this recipe turn out?
Cheeseburgers----------------------------------
2lbs. ground turkey
1/2 cup apple juice
1 large onion
2Tbsp. each garlic powder, brown mustard, and parsley flakes
2 packages powdered macaroni cheese
4 whole-wheat pita shells
1 cup (give or take) romaine leaves
olive oil for brushing
1/2 avocado
1/2 Cup mayonnaise
Process chopped onion, brown mustard, garlic powder, parsley flakes, apple juice and cheese powder in a food processor, until a smooth paste forms. Separate this paste into two batches. Thoroughly combine salmon with one batch of seasoning paste, then divide into 8 balls. Pat each ball into a round, flat patty, brush each side well with olive oil, and fry in well-heated frying pan for 10 minutes on each side or until cooked to desired doneness. Cut four whole-wheat pita rounds in half, and slice each patty in half. Blend 2nd half of seasoning paste with avocado and mayonnaise. Brush onto romaine lettuce leaves (the side that touches the pita), and line the pita shells with the leaves, then cut each patty in half to fit neatly into the pita.
Each serving is 2 halves of one pita round. Serves four.
How would this recipe turn out, in your opinion?
lol, sorry, in the directions there, that should say turkey, not salmon... I forgot to edit that section.
Question #7:
How did I eat today (with the fourth of july and everything...)?
Okay, I am 17, 5'4.5" and about 94-95 lbs.I am recovering from anorexia, so don't mention my weight :)
I have already gained over 20 lbs., then a lost a couple again, but I am trying to maintain rather than lose or gain for the time being. I was maintaining my weight at 800 calories a day, but I am trying to go to 1000. It is really hard and scary to see the numbers go up to 4 digits :/
Anyways, this is what I had today:
Breakfast: 1 Piece of Whole Grain Toast: 100 cals, ½ Tbs. Peanut butter: 45 cals, ½ Cup Fresh Berries and Whipped Cream: 30 cals
Tea: 0 cals
Lunch: Parmesan Veggie Burger: 90 cals, Bun: 100 cals, 1 cup Watermelon: 45 cals,
1/2 serving Chips: 70 cals
Diet Coke: 0
Dessert: Mini Pie Crust: 110 cals, Cool Whip: 50 cals, Strawberries/Blueberries: 25 cals
This is what I am thinking for the rest of the day:
Dinner: Grilled Salmon Patty: 100 cals, Mixed Steamed Veggies: 50 cals, 1/2 cup Couscous: 90 cals
Any thoughts? I am worried that me eating this much will make me gain weight. Any low calorie ideas to substitute for my dinner? Thanks!

Question #13:
Canned salmon patty mixture? See details please?
My elderly neighbor has been having many stomach problems among other things. Yesterday I was asked to come over and make her dinner because her 50 y/o son had to go to work. Her son had made a salmon patty mixture at 1:00pm and left it out of the fridge and on the back of the stove until I came over at 5:45pm. I see that they do lots of things this way. Can this be why she is always sick? I think so, but before I confront him I would like some confirmation. She asked if I wanted one and I said NO!BTW...when I balked at cooking the room temp mixture, she said it had been in the fridge, I think she was fibbing as warm as it felt and it was 85 in her home yesterday
Thank you, first answerer, but I am never rude. I simply declined saying I had already eaten. This stuff was literally as warm as my palm when patting them out
Question #14:
Can I make salmon patties with bread crumbs?
I want to make salmon patties, but I'm completely out of crackers. Would I be able to use canned bread crumbs as a substitute? And how much?Question #15:
Can you rate my story?
Holly watched in agony as she saw her Aunt Patricia and Uncle Rodger going at it. They were arguing on who should get custody over their children. She was sick of it. Ever since she had arrived in Pennsylvania, her family members have been fighting nonstop. Teena, Carol, her siblings, and Cato sat on the bench watching their aunt and uncle bickering. Sighing, Holly went over and joined them."This sucks." she groaned. "Thanksgiving is supposed to be about happiness and togetherness. Look at them! They're like children!"
Her fourteen year old brother Elliot put an arm around her. "This is our Leave-It-To-Beaver family."
Holly chortled. She knew he was being ironic. Other than her immediate family, her other relatives weren't cooperative. Holly saw her mother approach the couple. She watched as her mother tried to intervene the fight. Begging and pleading came in her voice as she told them to stop for the sake of the children. Aunt Patricia finally gain her composure and walked over to the lake. Holly saw sadness in her eyes, so she went over to her.
"Hi, Aunt Patty." she smiled, putting an arm around her shoulder. "Bad day, huh?"
Aunt Patricia leaned over to hug her. "You have no idea. It's like your uncle always wants to be in control."
"Let's talk about something else." tried Holly.
"You're right." agreed Aunt Patricia. "I shouldn't harp on my problems. What do you want to talk about."
"Well, I want to talk about Damien." said Holly. "I'm not sure if I should give Damien what he wants."
"Well, what does he want?" asked Aunt Patricia. "Please don't have sex with him."
"Well, my friend just gave her boyfriend oral sex and I'm thinking about doing it to Damien."
Aunt Patricia sighed. Holly thought it was okay to talk about this stuff to her because she was one of the few relatives she could talk about anything. Aunt Patricia refocuses her glasses on her face before turning her attention back to her niece.
"Don't do anything that you'll regret." she said finally. "I was sixteen when I had Teena."
Holly nodded. "I know, but I really care about this guy."
"Sweetie, just be yourself." Aunt Patricia said. "It's all you can be. Remember that."
Holly smiled. Her aunt always gave good advise. No wonder she could talk to her about everything. Her aunt might be unstable, but at least she was the voice of reason.
"Who wants to go fishing!" announced her father Robert, coming in with a fishing hook.
"I do!" shouted Holly, grabbing another hook off of the brown shed.
She had good angler skills thanks to her father. Fishing was a time they did whenever they bonded. She was proud of doing that kind of stuff because it was something most of her girl friends didn't do. Also Damien liked to fish, so it was a good way to spend time with him. Wet leaves fell from the trees, sticking against Holly's dark hair. She grimaced as Teena plucked the leaves off of her. A gush of wind hit Holly, nearly knocking her down. It was a nice, cool day to spend time with family. Even if they were Jerry-Springer-like.
She reeled in her first fish, bringing up to the deck. It was a salmon that was two times bigger than her hand. Elliot high-fived her, bringing in his share of fish as well. This Thanksgiving wasn't so bad. Her mother's side of the family managed to behaved this time. And Aunt Patricia and Uncle Rodger hadn't fought since.
Coming towards her, Teena and Kayla carried plates of food in their hands. Her mother Lauren came over, kissing Holly on the cheek.
"Well, what do you think?" asked Lauren.
"It's not so bad." grinned Holly. "I actually kind of enjoy this."
"I'm so happy." Lauren hugged her daughter. "I'm kind of having fun myself."
"I always have fun when you're around." laughed Robert, kissing his wife on the lips.
"Ugh," joked Holly. "No need to see parents showing PDA."
Her parents laughed, and walked away holding hands. Holly turned to Teena who's thick hair was put up into a high pony-tail.
"How's your dad doing?" she asked.
Teena shrugged. "He's alright. He's still not over the recent divorce."
Holly had heard how Aunt Patricia had announced the divorce in front of all of their family members without talking about it with him. She knew that was horrible for her Uncle Rodger to experience. She wished them the best of luck.
Question #16:
Salmon patties, clam chowder? are they safe during pregnancy?
I am pretty sure the salmon patties are, right? I only use wild caught alaska salmon....and it is sooooooo yummy I am dying for some! As for the clam chowder, I think it would be bad, they are bottom cleaners. My BF thinks they are safe (and he is almost psycho watching what I eat LOL) but I want to be sure. Does anyone have a link to a good, reliable site that gives you the run down on safe or not. A hot, steaming bowl of clam chowder sounds wonderful and I will have to make both these things for my kids anyway (some of their favorites) I would hate to have to eat something different. :(Question #17:
Will I gain muscle mass if I am lifting weights on a 800 calorie diet?
I am 5'10" 175lbs. I run every day and max out my heart rate. I lift heavy weights every day as well. I can bench press about 170 now. I do yoga two-three times a week. I also do ab and core workouts once a week. My diet includes protein shakes and other high protein low carb foods all of which add up to less than 800 calories per day. I do not feel any more starved than when I was eating 3000-4000 calories per day while doing nothing.I also supplement everyday with Fish oil-7cal/tablet, Vitamin B complex, Vitamin C, Iron, Magnesium, Calcium, Vitamin D and Zinc.
I do not go for more than 4 hours without food. I wake up 8 am hit the gym from 8:30-10:30 at 11 I usually eat an egg, protein shake, peanut butter on celery, a bowl of salad and a salmon patty, 2pm handful of nuts, 5pm rice tuna and a bowl of salad, 8pm handful of nuts and fruit finally 10pm maybe soup or a slice of bread with pepper paste. I might return to the gym a second time for more weight lifting/cardio throughout the day.
I know for sure I am putting out more calories than I am putting in. I am putting out at least 2200 basal calories and an additional 200-500 calories from exercise. How can I gain weight if my output is less than my input? Why am I gaining weight instead of losing it? I need to lose the fat around my gut and get a six pack in less than 2 months.
Tips suggestions?
Question #18:
What goes well with pinto beans (cooked with ham)?
I usually make great northern or navy beans with my ham bones, but thought I'd try something different this time. However, I don't know what to make with it. With the white beans I do salmon patties, fried potatoes and the beans, but I don't think it will taste the same with the pintos......UGH! I don't know. What do you like with your pintos?
